Replays™, is a fun, play based, therapeutic approach to treat anxiety, emotional dysregulation, tantrums, or phobias, for children who may also have other diagnoses (e.g. autism; Asperger’s; mood disorder; mental retardation). Replays is based in the principles of COgnitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) adapted to a playful play based format. Children cognitively from infancy through about a ten year level can often benefit from this approach.

Parents, teachers and therapists can learn to use Replays to impact many kinds of behavioral challenges. Replays can be combined with other techniques. While Replays cannot fix all problem behaviors it can provide a ‘language’ in which to talk with the child, through play, about emotional challenges, and resolve many behaviors.

Replays™ is described in the book Replays; Using Play to Enhance Emotional and Behavioral Development of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders, by Karen Levine and Naomi Chedd (2007). Jessica Kingsley Publishers.
